NEWS FROM SWEETBRIAR

2007 Was Another Busy Year at Sweetbriar Suri Alpacas.

2007 Began with our taking two young males to the Jacksonville, Florida show in February. Both full Accoyo Neptune and SBS Kiowa where first in their classes and both won color championships. What a start!

Then came MOPACA in St. Louis where Kiowa was the Reserve Champion and SBS Donald Trump was the Light Color Champion. All six entries in MOPACA were either First or Second.

Next was The Futurity in Louisville where we watched SBS Crown Prince (owned by Silver Creek and out of Accoyo Crown Royale) win the White Reserve Color Championship as a Juvenille.

At The Buckeye in Columbus, Ohio The Crown Royale kids excelled. In the extremely large white classes, Camelot was first in his Juvenille Class (youngest in the group) and Monte was first in the Over 8" Yearling Class and won the white color championship. In the white females, Cascadia was second in the yearling over 8" class. Donald got another first in the Yearling Fawn Class.

At AOBA, Camelot won his group once again and SBS Silverton began his show career as a silver grey juvenille, taking second place.

In the Fall, Silverton was first in Silver Grey Yearling males and Sweet Suri Pharon won the Brown Yearling Female Class.

At the Northern Illinois Show in October, Crown Princess Cleopatra began her show career with a Reserve Color (white) Championship. Pharon got another Brown Championship and two young juvenilles both won their Black Classes, Miss Behavin (F) and Surius Black (M). Silver added another second.

The 2007 show season ended up in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio AlpacaFest. All five entries were either first or second with Pharon winning another Brown Color Championship and Silver and Cleo getting Reserve Championships.

What a great show year!

Once again, the rare Accoyo Crown Royale offspring continued to dominate in the show ring. Give us a call about adding these sought after genetics to your program. With a strong female cria production in 2007, we can now offer some cria offspring that are not on our Website.

SBS Accoyo Crown Princess Nadia

Yes, That's right. On June 19, 2007 we got our first full accoyo female out of Crown Royale. Nadia is only the fourth full Accoyo female born out of Accoyo Crown Royale. The other three all had incredible show records. We think Nadia will be the best of them all. She has all the characteristics Crown Royale is known for — incredible luster, tight twisted locks, great density, wonderful handle and perfect conformation. Her dam is Nimisha, out of Accoyo Jackpot. Want to beat me in the show ring? Talk to Gini, she just might be willing to sell Nadia.

Arizona Sage

Arizona is now confirmed pregnant to Crown Royale, for a June cria. We can't wait!

Born in November of 2001, Arizona was destined to be one of the best show animals we had ever raised. Little did we know what would happen. Showing as a Juvenile in October of 2002, she won her first blue ribbon and Fawn Female Championship. Her show career ended at AOBA 2003 a short 7 months after it began. But what a record! She never lost! 7 shows, 7 championships under 6 different SR. Judges, establishing a truly astounding show record.

After winning her last championship at AOBA in June of 2003, Arizona Sage was shorn and bred to our champion Herdsire, Sweet Fox Fire Jax. In June of 2005, Arizona produced another incredible boy out of FoxFire. And like SBS Phoenix, Wile E. Fox has great lock and luster. And on July 7th, 2006 Arizona produced a little boy (22 pounds) out of the Accoyo Crown Royale. SBS Crown Prince was purchased by George and Sue Bailey of Silver Creek Alpacas and began his show career with Reserve Championships at both the Furturity and AOBA National.

In July, 2007, Arizona gave us another brown male, this time sired by SBS Roulette (TB). As with his brothers, he has great lock and luster and is destined to be a show winner. Call us if you are interested in this young boy.

SBS Renegade

This six time, dark brown color champion, co-owned with Greg and Joyce White of Tinkers Creek Alpaca Farm, has now produced thirteen cria, nine females and four males.

All his cria are colored and several are grey. Riptide might be one of the most amazing cria ever born at Sweetbriar. He is dark brown with great lock and luster and to beat all, he is beginning to turn grey.

The Crown Royale Kids Continue to Amaze Us

His offspring added several more blues and championships in both halter and fleece shows during 2007. And the next generation is even more amazing. Crown Prince Stewart is sure to give Crown Prince a run for his money in 2008. And he continues to produce more girls than boys.
